Nikes On My Feet, Keep My Cypher Complete

Yeah, he dresses like the 4th Beastie Boy, uses Hova’s out-of-breath-flow too much and looks like Mike Posner’s less retarded 4 foot tall twin, but he’s witty, confident and claims to shoe shop with Darrelle Revis. Plus he uses one of my all time favorite Nas lines. Download Mac Miller’s new mixtape K.I.D.S. (based on the Larry Clark movie of the same title) here. He linked with indie Director Ian Wolfson to shoot a three part video (obviously inspired by Clark’s K.I.D.S. & John Hughes Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) for the release of the mixtape. Thumbs UP!

Follow The Fish

In the World of Professional Surfing it can be a bit too serious these days. Most top Pros are doing some kind of cross-fit, yoga, pilates, P90X or combination training, numerous top Pros are being endorsed by Target, RedBull or any major corporations in NASCAR-form and even ESPN dedicates web-space and TV on-air time to the sport of Surfing. While those milestones are amazing and they help legitimize the sport we love in the mainstream while providing compensation to the Pros that is long overdue, it’s always fun to have a few loose-cannons around to remind us that the sport of surfing has always attracted the free spirits. Take Paul Fisher for example, a little bit Girls Gone Wild, a little bit Tosh.O, sprinkle on some Jackass with a foundation in solid surfing and you’ve got www.followthefish.tv

The ever-satirical hipster runoff said that sometimes the after-party recap is bigger than the party itself. While the party wasn’t huge, it sure was a beautiful crowd and superf*cking fun!
And now I’m not sure if the “b” in “b90x” stands for Bacardi, blackout, butts, beachballs, boobs, burnt, boners or all of the above.

Surfing in the City…New York City That Is.

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

I just came back from a short stay in NY. My schedule was tight but I did have one night totally free where I got to hang out with a few of my friends that now call New York City home. Good times. One thing that really surprised me was the amount of people I met that talked to me about surfing. Surfing isn’t really a topic that I think about when I think of NYC.

While taking a break between beverages, my friend Rhandy walked me over from Max Fish to his place which happened to be just a couple of doors down. He showed me this video he put together just a few days before and it made me smile, and I started to understand…

“It aint Hawaii, Tahiti, South America or Indonesia but when you have to surf you gotta make it happen and be commited to it. Especially if you live the city, New York City that is.

It was gonna be 96˚ in the city and there was a little wind swell so I took a field trip out to Long Beach from the Lower East Side, Manhattan. F train to the C train to Penn Station to the LIRR train. When it’s dumb hot out it beats staying in the city or trying to surf the East River or Hudson anyday.” —Tizzy

FM Belfast from Iceland

A bit eerie and beautiful at the same time, this video for FM Belfast’s “Underwear” is one of the most captivating things I’ve seen in a while.

New video from Fashawn “Samsonite Man”. Cool postcard concept! Song reminds me of “Traveling Man” by Mighty Mos. Makes me want to travel. To wherever that girl is.
