Noteworthy/Honolulu.September 12th, 2011
Noteworthy is located on the corner between Kicks/HI on Makaloa Street and Crooks & Castles’ flagship store on Keeaumoku, in Honolulu. They’re on the second floor so if you’re on the corner…just look up and you’ll see the large Noteworthy logos on the windows. I walked into the boutique for the first time today and was happy to see Jay O—part owner—whose tattoos were featured in Lucky Olelo’s story for Contrast 04.
The space is clean with a well curated selection of garments from labels like GPPR, Marshall Artist, Public Label, and one of my favorites…Norse Projects. I spent some time talking with Jay about the good things happening on the block while he introduced me to a few brands that he’s really excited about. It’s always nice to have a conversation with someone who is genuinely interested in what they do. I left with a blue Norse Projects sweatshirt with a tag that reads, “The mark of true luxury is not the grand gesture, but the simple things done well.” Agreed.
