2nd Annual That BP Comp A Benefit For El Kellum

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Tomorrow night (Dec. 29) is Kuha‘o Zaneʻs birthday. Instead of making the eveningʻs festivities all about his trip through the birth canal, the graphic designer is taking the opportunity to show aloha to a good friend with a Beer Pong tournament.

Kuha‘oʻs homeboy, El Kellum, suffered a gnarly head injury Tuesday, Dec. 21 in Hilo, and had to be medevac to O‘ahu for emergency treatment. El returned to Hawai‘i Island for Christmas on Thursday, Dec. 23, but is not completely recovered.

Our homeboy, El Kellum, focused on a full recovery. Image jacked from Facebook.

KZ is throwing the 2nd Annual That BP Comp as a means to ease the Kellum ‘ohanaʻs medical cost and to show El that he is on our minds and prayers during this holiday season. There is $25 entry fee per team and all of the money raised will go directly to the Kellums. Itʻs a BYOB affair, but killer pupu will be served up by the culinary artists at Aloha Mondays. Cruise by if youʻre in the Hilo vicinity. You know where it is. Party starts at 5 p.m. and the tourney starts at 7 p.m. No forget for tell Kuha‘o, “Happy Birthday, Buleh!”

Radical Outing Presents Never Forget: An Attack On Our Freedom and Way of Life

In light of the recent Four Loko bans, this is Radical Outing’s response, eight tracks of songs influenced by Four Loko produced under the influence of Four Loko. The EP features contributions from Anton Glamb, Chad Dubz, Santhya, Pink Cash and Jonny on the Rocks of Rocky Business. All tracks are original with the exception of Beautiful Problems, a rap/remix of an original song by Jade<3. The album covers many different emotions and experiences that Four Loko can provide from the personal to the political, from solitude to romance. Radical Outing drank a lot of Four Loko and feel that these recent bans are an attack on our freedom and way of life. They feel that it is their civic duty to respond and stand up for the basic American right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. You can download the album for free here.

Lemon-Aid By @Badnewsrapdudes

Saturday, December 25th, 2010

Have you ever heard the saying, “when life gives you lemons, make dope shit”?  What!?  You haven’t!?  Well, I guess you heard it here.  And that is exactly what Hawaii-based brand Lemon does.  They make dope shit.  Don’t believe me?  Check out their lookbook for this upcoming line.  You can order any of this dope gear on their website: www.lemonhi.com.

Also, if you are gonna be in Hilo for the holidays, Lemon will be throwing a party at the Hilo Lanes (777 Kinoole Street) on December 26th.  All you gotta do is bring two canned goods (or $5) and that will get you in to the party.  They will have live music, dranks, and you can cop some Lemon gear there too.  Support local!

Fitted Is Making Me Thirsty

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

The Fitted x Hawaiian Sun project drops today…get yourself a sip or a whole six-pack…

Hawaiian Sun: Simply put, the name represents par excellence that is tantamount to a pack of Lunchables to a first grader. Hawaiian Sun evokes vivid memories of any local keiki’s childhood, wrapped neatly in tin foil and left to cool in the freezer overnight; all set for the following day’s home lunch or field trip, so when it was time for lunch, the juice would be nice & slushy. The average local family buys at least 3 – 4 cases of the infamous fruit juices and are not only limited to the keiki; every trip to the beach, tailgate party, or lu’au will have Hawaiian Sun on ice, ready to go. Add to the fact that there is not a flavor out of their entire production that is second-rate.

Founded in 1952, this locally and family-owned company got it’s start in the fresh fruit business, selling them in local markets, so naturally, it was a no-brainer to progress into the juice business. Their genuine passion for fruits (no pun intended) and juices is displayed in their product.
We’re proud to announce that we’ve teamed up with this legendary local company to produce a limited run of a phenomenal custom New Era; all representing the people of Hawai’i. The custom fitted utilize a unique pattern and colors of the three juices used in POG (Pass-O-Guava): passion fruit, orange juice and guava. Subtly laid behind the fruits is a map of the Hawaiian island chains; the woven bill symbolizes the baskets that were used by our ancestors to transport the fresh pickings of fruit. The inside of the cap features a cotton twill lining of our Fitted logos and Hawaiian Sun’s renowned logos. Coinciding with this official collaboration project is an all black tee with It’s Hawaiian Sun in the same colors as the cap; similar to our first It’s Hawaiian SON t-shirt. For every purchase of this special cap, you will receive a 6-pack of Hawaiian Sun juice and a custom FITTED x Hawaiian Sun plastic cup.

Man, that print would make such a dope Aloha shirt, yea?
