My buddy Mike’s cat was run over by a car this past week. The unknown vehicle shattered the cat’s femur, legs, and jaw. Mike’s been through a lot with this cat, and he and his wife are now spending upwards of 7000$ for surgery and therapy for the poor thing. It sounds crazy, but if your a animal lover, and own pets, you understand how it goes. Since Mike has gone broke putting vet bills on his credit card the nice folks over at Mecury Bar in Chinatown, Honolulu will be throwing a last minute benefit for Bugsy the Cat. Details below:

Here’s our Marketing Director, Jason Shibata, punting a freesurf air in rural Philippines at The Billabong Cloud Nine Invitational Contest. Since he has limited internet access and may be in a balut-induced coma, I’ll post for him today. Bats said the surf has been small, but really clean. So far he’s made two heats and is in the quarterfinals.

T-Mobile’s newest handset, the G1 a.k.a. the Google Phone a.k.a. the HTC Dream, was officially announced today at a press conference in New York. It’s set to launch on October 22, 2008 for $179 on T-Mobile in the US on a two-year contract agreement, or $399 contract-free. Existing T-Mobile subscribers get first dibs, with pre-orders being accepted starting today on the T-Mobile website. Currently, they only have the colors black and brown available for pre-order.
